DHARAMSHALA, Feb. 11 -- Himachal Pradesh government focusing on empowering the farming community and self-help groups keeping in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of doubling farmers income by 2022, chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Monday.

"Emphasis is on research, adoption of innovative technologies from other countries, crop diversification plans and post-harvest value addition," said Thakur. He was addressing the inaugural session of a three-day international workshop on at Dharamshala being organised by state agriculture department and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
