Shimla, Dec. 13 -- Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, on Friday. During the meeting, Shukla briefed the PM about the state's ongoing Nasha-Mukt Himachal Abhiyan, an intensive statewide anti-drug campaign being led by the Lok Bhavan. He apprised how coordinated efforts involving educational institutions, civil society, police administration and local communities are being strengthened to combat drug abuse and safeguard the youth of the state. He also briefed the positive public response and the growing participation of students and citizens in the campaign. The governor further informed the PM about the progress of the TB-Mukt Himachal initiative, under which sustained awareness drives, timely screening and enhanced medical interventions are being undertaken across districts with active public cooperation. During the meeting, Shukla discussed several development oriented and public welfare issues concerning Himachal. Matters related to infrastructure improvement, welfare programmes, and other subjects linked to the long-term interests of the state were also deliberated upon.
