JAMMU, Dec. 19 -- Following a formal request by the BJP government at the Centre, the J&K high court, on Thursday, adjourned the case pertaining to LG's discretionary powers to nominate five MLAs to legislative assembly to February 6. "The PIL regarding nomination of five MLAs to the J&K legislative assembly was today adjourned to February 6, on the request of the senior counsel for Union of India," said J&K Congress chief spokesperson and former MLC Ravinder Sharma. The hearing in the matter was fixed at Srinagar before the division bench of justice Sanjeev Kumar and justice Rajesh Sekhrim, he said. On Thursday, when the matter came up before the bench, court informed the petitioner Ravinder Kumar Sharma, who was personally present in the court that there was a request for adjournment from the other side as Tushar Mehta, solicitor general, was stated to be not available because of pre-occupations.
