Chandigarh, Feb. 14 -- Chandigarh claimed massive 609-run first innings lead against Manipur on Day Two of their last Plate Group Ranji Trophy match being played at the Videocon Ground, Kolkata, on Thursday.

Batting in their first innings, Chandigarh were bolstered by knocks from twin double centurions Bipul Sharma (200) and Gurinder Singh (200no). After slamming his first double-century in first-class cricket, left-arm spinner Gurinder Singh bowled well for Chandigarh claiming five wickets against Manipur. In reply to their first innings total of 672 runs, Chandigarh bowled out Manipur for mere 63 runs and secured a massive lead of 609 runs. Batting in their second innings, Manipur were 33 for no loss at the end of Day Two.
