Girls take the cake as JKBOSE announces Class 12 results
Srinagar, May 1 -- As many as 21 girls are among the 22 students on top three ranks across streams as the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced Class 12 results.
Of the 22 students in the top three ranks, 17 are from government higher secondary schools, with the rest being from private schools.
Girls outperformed boys in pass percentage as well.
Overall, 75% of the candidates qualified the exam.
According to the results, 77,311 out of the 1,03,308 students who appeared have passed the examinations.
Among boys, 37,214 out of 51,717 (71.95%) students passed while 40,097 girls out of 51,591 (77.72%) passed, a JKBOSE officials said.
At least 30,623 students acquired distinctions (75% and above).
According to the JKBOSE officials, 30,622 students secured first division (60% above) and 36,311 managed were placed in the second division (48% above)....
