Srinagar, Jan. 16 -- Senior AIP Leader and Langate MLA Sheikh Khursheed Ahmad on Thursday lashed out at the government, saying that every Kashmiri is now being treated as a suspect, while imams and mosque committees have been put on radar, calling it a direct assault on religious freedom and personal liberties. In a post on X, he said such suppressive measures cannot be the way to "win hearts and minds" in Kashmir and demanded the Union government revisit its policy. He warned that screening people on sectarian lines is deliberate attempt to divide society, adding that such interference raise serious questions of fairness. "This is what Modi's 'Naya Kashmir' looks like," he said, asking government to stop targeting religious institutions and respect constitutional rights.htc...
