Srinagar, July 28 -- Central Reserve Police Force, Srinagar, on Sunday celebrated the 87th raising day of CRPF with commendations and pledges to mark the occasion. The event witnessed a special Sainik Sammelan at group centre, Srinagar. "As many as 22 officers and officials were felicitated with the prestigious Director General's Disc and commendation certificates in recognition of their outstanding service, dedication to duty and operational excellence," a CRPF spokesperson said. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Director General, JK Zone, CRPF, attended the occasion as the chief guest. Kumar lauded the historical role of CRPF, appreciating its commendable operationalrole in Punjab, LWE, North-East India and Jammu & Kashmir. "He also made a special reference to the valour displayed during the battle at Sardar post, where a handful of brave CRPF personnel courageously stood their ground against an entire brigade of the Pakistani Army, showcausing unparalleled valour and sacrifice," the spokesperson said.
