Shimla, April 24 -- Demanding immediate revision of appointment of block presidents and alleging neglect of the trans Giri region, a Congress leader from Sirmaur on Thursday sat on hunger strike outside the Rajiv Bhawan in Shimla. Congress leader Pradeep Chauhan, who is former Bhangani zone president, began a 24-hour hunger strike expressing dissatisfaction over the appointment of the Paonta Sahib Block Congress Committee president. Congress party on April 17, had appointed presidents across 71 blocks. He demanded appointment of block presidents and called for appointing a representative from the Trans Giri region.
