Cong ex-MLA Bumber Thakur protests against own govt outside assembly
Shimla, March 31 -- In a rare show of dissent, former Congress MLA Bumber Thakur staged a protest outside the Himachal Pradesh assembly on Monday, targeting his own party's government over the 2024 'Operation Lotus' and pending infrastructure issues in Bilaspur.
Thakur raised four concerns, alleging that the mastermind behind the attempt to topple the state government remains unpunished. "When Operation Lotus happened in Bilaspur, MLAs were detained in hotels and helicopters were arranged. A year later, I am reminding the chief minister that the state is bearing a financial burden because of the individual who tried to destroy this government," Thakur told reporters.
The former legislator also highlighted public inconvenience and irregularities linked to ongoing construction activities in his home constituency.
Referring to a previous attack on him, Thakur questioned the status of the police probe and demanded immediate accountability for those involved.htc...
