Dharamshala, June 4 -- Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for six development projects worth about Rs.100 crore in Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra district. Besides dedicating Rs.4.96-crore community health centre (CHC) in Haripur, the CM also laid the foundation stone of administrative and diagnostic block of the hospital, food commissary and quarantine at Durgesh Aranya Zoological Park, to be constructed at a cost of Rs.47.62 crore, and lift water supply scheme (LWSS) for International Zoo at Bankhandi (Seera Da Bharoh in Haripur tehsil), to be built at a cost of Rs.16.25 crore. He also laid foundation stone for upgrade work of Haripur-Sakri Ghera road (Rs.12.87 crore),Thathar Tripal-Mehwa panchayat (Rs.6.64 crore) and upgrade of Guler-Nandpur Barial Ludret road (Rs.10.29 crore). He said that the international-level Durgesh Aranya Zoological Park was being constructed at Bankhandi at a cost of Rs.619 crore. In the first phase, Rs.150 crore was being spent on construction of 43 enclosures. Around 90% of boundary wall has been completed besides eight check dams have also been constructed so far. The CM directed to construct more check dams to facilitate rainwater harvesting. He said that it would not only be a tourist attraction but also a model of sustainable infrastructure, blending conservation with innovation. The CM said this park would have space to showcase 78 species, including the Asiatic lion, hog deer, monitor lizard, crocodile, ghadiyal and various bird species. Sukhu said the park would boost tourism and provide employment opportunities to the local youth. The chief minister, during a public meeting in Haripur in Dehra assembly constituency of Kangra, handed over land allotment certificates to 89 Pong Dam oustees. Sukhu said the issue of Pong Dam oustees was raised by the local MLA before the government that they have been suffering for the past 50 years and even had to struggle to get their documents. "The state government is now granting them their due rights. The remaining displaced families will also be allotted land in the near future. Additionally, each family will receive Rs.3 lakh as financial assistance for building homes," he added. The CM also assured completion of the Nandpur bridge by December this year. He also said that the state government was establishing 'Adarsh Swasthya Sansthan's' in all 68 assembly constituencies with six specialist doctors in each. He said the community health centre (CHC), Haripur, would be made 'Adarsh Swasthya Sansthan'. He announced Rs.2 crore for the construction of residential accommodation for doctors. He criticised the previous BJP government for "plundering the state's resources"....
