CM Omar failing to protect people's land, orchards: Mehbooba
Srinagar, Jan. 8 -- Former J&K chief minister and the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday accused chief minister Omar Abdullah for failing to protect the land and orchards of people that is being forcibly taken away in the name of development.
Mehbooba, while addressing party workers at Bijbhera, on the tenth death anniversary of former CM and PDP founder, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that had her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed been alive today things would have been different in Jammu and Kashmir. "Everyone is missing Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today. Had he been alive today things wouldn't have been bad for J&K's as he always cared for his people instead of chair. He believed in opening channels of communication with people and reached to every corner and village of the J&K." Mehbooba described her late father a great visionary leader of the J&K.
Mehbooba blamed J&K CM Omar for failing to protect orchards of people. "Orchards and trees are being axed in the name of development. Almond trees are cut and CM doesn't care as his priority is only to target our party."
PDP president said that people gave more than 50 seats to Omar. "Our party is nowhere today as people handed over mandate to the NC, still people are now missing the vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed."...
