Dharamshala, April 29 -- Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday said all sections of the society should contribute in making Himachal Pradesh a green state. He was presiding over the All India Motor Transport Congress 'National Truck and Bus Meet' at Gandhi Gram, under the Kasauli assembly constituency of Solan district. He said Himachal was one of the most admired and sought-after tourist destinations in the country. "As high footfall of the visitors also affects the environment in hilly states like Himachal, the state government is strengthening the tourism infrastructure with special attention on environmental protection and sustainable development," he said. The CM said the state government has set a target of making Himachal a green energy state by March 2026. An action plan that has been prepared to achieve this goal and it includes encouraging the use of electric vehicles as well as expanding the infrastructure for it, Sukhu said.
