aid for J&K border areas to be announced after discussion with centre: CM
Srinagar, May 24 -- Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said the assessment of damages due to Pakistan shelling in border areas has been almost completed and a package will be announced for affected families after consultation with the Centre.
"It's almost complete. Only assessment of one or two districts is being awaited. The assessment will be taken up with Centre and efforts will be made to announce a package," Omar told mediapersons in Srinagar.
On Rahul Gandhi's planned visit to Poonch, Omar said that it is good that Leader of Opposition is visiting Poonch. "He will meet the people there and express his sympathies," the chief minister added.
Omar has already travelled to all areas in J&K that were affected by the shelling.
During visits in Uri, Tanghdar, Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu, the CM assured the affected families of full help....
