50% roads in HP built under PMGSY: MP
Shimla, June 7 -- The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has proved to be a boon for Himachal Pradesh as about 50% of the roads of Himachal Pradesh have been built under this scheme. This was stated by Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kashyap, while chairing District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Shimla on Friday.
He said, "Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has proved to be a boon for Himachal Pradesh and it is a matter of great joy that about 50% of the roads of Himachal Pradesh have been built under this scheme".
"Now the fourth phase of this scheme is going on, which includes 100 roads of Chaupal, 40 of Theog, 09 of Jubbal, 02 of Kotkhai, 02 of Dodra Kwar and 91 roads under Rampur block," said Kashyap.
"In the fourth phase also 243 roads have been approved for Shimla district. The work going on under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will also be completed by March 2026," he said while acknowledging the Public Works Department for "doing good work and the progress of the work is also commendable". He has urged all the officers to complete the tarring work before the rainy season.
Kashyap said that in the meeting of Disha, quarterly review of various schemes sponsored by the central government is done, in which feedback is taken from the officers on the progress of schemes being implemented through departments like Public Works, Water Power, Electricity etc. He instructed all the officers to pay special attention to quality in development works.Kashyap said that Under the Restructured Distribution Area Scheme (RDSS) of the Electricity Department no part of the state will remain where there will be any problem related to electricity....
