5 chargesheeted for Rs.35-lakh fraud in jammu
Jammu, June 27 -- The crime branch of J&K Police on Thursday filed five chargesheets against seven "fraudsters", who allegedly duped their victims of over Rs.35 lakh on different pretexts. Among the accused were Alok Kumar of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Maneer Ahmed Bhat of Doda against whom an FIR was registered for allegedly defrauding Dr Mumtaz Hussian Shah Bukhari of Poonch of Rs.12 lakh on the pretext of arranging MBBS seats for his two daughters in Batra Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu, said an official spokesperson
In another case, Rakesh Kumar of Ganjansoo Marh in Jammu was duped of Rs.9.42 lakh on the pretext of providing machinery for business for which Rakesh Sareen of Delhi has been charge-sheeted, the spokesperson said.
Shafiq Ahmed Lone of Baramulla, Mohammad Inam-Ul-Haq of New Delhi and Firoz Khan of Noida were accused of duping Satpal Sharma of RS Pura in Jammu of Rs.6.50 lakh, providing fake visa and fake job offer letters to his son, officials said.
Varinder Kumar of Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab was chargesheeted for duping Vijay Kumar of Rajouri on the pretext of arranging work visa. Pawan Kumar and Naresh Kumar, both of Chandigarh, were chargesheeted for duping Bachan Lal and Sudhir Kumar of Jammu of Rs.6.41 lakh on the pretext of providing jobs in a firm.
SSP Benam Tosh said the chargesheets were filed in the respective courts....
