35 kidney transplants conducted at Tanda medical college & hospital
Shimla, Sept. 25 -- Tanda medical college and hospital, has done 35 kidney transplants during the last six months. This was stated by deputy chief whip Kewal Singh Pathania while interacting with the media while talking of the steps taken by the state government to strengthen the health sector.
"If I talk of Tanda medical college and hospital, as many as 35 kidney transplants were done during the last six months," said Pathania while adding "Vision is clear, no patient should be compelled to travel outside Himachal for advanced treatment."
He said that there was a time when kidney patients had to travel outside the state and were duped by the medical mafia for Kidney transplant. There were cases when such patients were taken as far as West Bengal for the kidney transplant and were deceived by the middlemen.
Pathania stated that it was for the first time that robotic surgery has become a reality for patients in the state. The facility has already started at Chamiyana Hospital in Shimla and Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College at Tanda. Plans were underway to expand this modern technology to IGMC Shimla and other leading medical institutions in the near future, he said....
