JAMMU, Feb. 15 -- A suicide attack on January 14 last year left 40 CRPF men dead in Pulwama after an explosive-laden car driven by a Jaish militant Adil Dar rammed into a convoy of 78 CRPF buses. One year on the wounds are still raw.

Commandant of CRPF's 76 Battalion NK Pandey and his men at Channi Himmat vividly remember the day they lost five of their colleagues, who were among the 40 CRPF men from various units travelling to Kashmir.Pandey says, "On that day, 78 buses left from a transit camp here around 4am. We had one bus from 76 Battalion in the convoy and it was targeted by the attacker."
