'J&K has tapped just 3,540 MW of 18,000-MW hydel power potential'
JAMMU, March 23 -- Though river-rich Jammu and Kashmir has an estimated power potential of 18000 megawatt, of which 14867 megawatt stands identified but 3540 megawatt has been harnessed to date. Responding to a query of NC MLA Mubarak Gul, the minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmad Rana, today informed the J& K legislative assembly that J&K has an estimated hydro power potential of 18,000 MegaWatt (MW), of which, 14867 MW has been identified....
