Jaipur, Jan. 26 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Sunday reiterated the state government's zero-tolerance policy against serious crimes such as paper leaks and OMR sheet manipulation, asserting that no one involved in such offences would be spared, regardless of their influence or position. Addressing a programme at the camp office in Sanganer, Sharma said that anyone found guilty would face strict punishment as per the law. He clarified that the state government has directed the Special Operations Group (SOG) to ensure a fair, transparent and impartial investigation wherever irregularities have occurred in recruitment processes. The objective, he said, is to restore public trust and protect the future of the youth. The chief minister stated that the SOG is taking action without discrimination in cases where concrete evidence has emerged. He pointed out that several of the people caught in connection with the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) were involved in fraudulent activities as far back as 2019. Referring to one such case, he said that the Uttar Pradesh STF had even informed the previous Congress government about the matter, but the issue was allegedly suppressed for nearly four-and-a-half years. Taking a dig at the opposition, Sharma said that those who failed to act at the right time are now speaking about morality. He asserted that his government would not compromise with the future of the youth under any circumstance and would ensure that merit and transparency prevail in all recruitment processes across the state. The chief minister's statement came a day after former chief minister Ashok Gehlot criticised the state government over the RSSB OMR sheet tampering case, saying five days have passed since the gang was caught but the government remains silent. He said his government had enacted the country's strictest law to protect the future of the youth, including life imprisonment, heavy fines and property confiscation, and took action even against senior officials without discrimination. Questioning the BJP government's claim of zero tolerance, Gehlot asked why it is avoiding a fair probe into examinations held during its tenure and whether it truly wants to do justice to the youth. Earlier in the day, Sharma honoured newly enrolled voters in Sanganer on the occasion of National Voters' Day. Addressing the gathering, he said that youth are not only the builders of the nation but also the torchbearers of its future. He urged new voters to exercise their right to vote responsibly while also remaining conscious of their duties towards the nation. He said that the state government has so far provided more than 100,000 government jobs, while recruitment for 143,000 posts is currently underway. He added that the government has recently released an examination calendar for recruitment to another 100,000 posts this year, encouraging the youth to prepare with dedication and hard work to achieve success....
