India, Oct. 7 -- Paralympic champ Sumit Antil's golden streak continues. The javelin thrower has proven his dominance yet again, clinching gold in the men's F64 javelin throw event at the recent World Para Athletics Championships in Delhi. Reflecting on what the win means to him, an emotional Sumit shares, "It feels special because it's not just another gold. This is a reminder of how far I've come and how the decision I took years ago to choose sports was worth every struggle." Not only did Sumit defend his title as the reigning champ, but the latest win has also made him the most decorated Indian para-athlete in the history of the championships. The 27-year-old's journey began in 2015, having lost his left leg in a road accident. Two years later, as a second-year student at Delhi University's Ramjas College, Sumit found himself standing at a crossroads. "I could've chosen to focus on studies and move on, but something in me told me I should give sports a try. I realised I could train for eight hours, but I could not sit and study for that long," he recalls. His early years were filled with doubt, pain, and uncertainty. "Training was hard, and mentally I had to start from zero. There were times I felt I wasn't cut out for it," Sumit admits, adding, "But every small improvement gave me hope." Now, even though he has cemented his status as one of India's finest, the win has simply underscored his hunger to keep improving: "Every time I compete, I want to push the boundary a little more. Records will come and go, but what stays is the satisfaction that I gave my best every single day."...
