Jaipur, Oct. 5 -- A 35-year-old woman was tied to a tree and was brutally assaulted by another 30-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son on Friday over a doubt of the former having an illicit relationship with the latter's husband, said police. The sub-inspector of the Bagru police station, Bhopal Singh said, "The incident happened on Friday evening. The accused woman, and her son invaded the victim's house when nobody else was there. Initially, they had a verbal scuffle following which the two started assaulting her." According to the officials, the accused woman suspected the the victim, Leela Devi, of being in an extramarital relationship with her husband. "When Leela denied it during the scuffle, the two forcibly brought her out, tied to a nearby Neem tree, and started beating brutally with stick and rods. Later, they also spread salt on her wounds," said Singh. Meanwhile, Leela's neighbours informed her family members following which the two fled the spot. The victim was referred to Jaipur for her treatment. An FIR was lodged against the woman under necessary sections of voluntarily causing hurt and unlawful assembly of BNS against her, police said. "We could not trace this woman, her son, and also her husband yet. All the three are absconding. Meanwhile, the victim, Leela, said that she used to call her husband to ask him to pay off the over Rs.100,000 loan that he took from her three years ago. We will record the statement and also question the accused once they are nabbed. Further probe is udnerway," said Singh....
