Bharatpur, Dec. 6 -- A man was detained after he killed a woman near a police station on Friday in Khairthal-Tijara district, police said. The incident took place near Mundawar police station when a man attacked a woman with a knife. He was detained on the spot and the woman was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead. Family members of the deceased gathered at the police station and started to protest. Ramniwas Meena, Mundawar SHO said, "The accused Rupendra Kumar, 21, resident of Mahendragarh in Haryana stayed here in a rented room. The deceased woman was identified as a 20-year-old who came here with him. He attacked her on the neck with a knife and killed her. Prima facie, it seems they knew each other."
