Bharatpur, Aug. 4 -- A woman and her son died after a tractor trolley overturned on them in Bharatpur while transporting fertilisers and seeds, police said on Sunday. The incident took place on Tontpur-Tuhiya road on Saturday evening, police said, when the duo was returning home on a motorcycle and the trolley overturned, burying them under sacks of fertilisers and seeds. Locals informed the police and started removing the sacks of fertilizers and seeds to rescue the two. The injured were taken to district Raj Bahadur Memorial hospital where doctors declared them dead, police said, adding that the bodies were handed over to the family on Sunday after autopsy. The deceased, identified as Sushila Devi, 45, and her son Mohit Meena, 23, were natives of Aladdin colony. The villagers staged a protest over the incident and blocked the road till late night on Saturday. Police said they withdrew the protest after cops convinced them. Brijendra Singh, assistant sub inspector of Udyog Nagar police station said that the road is already damaged and the tractor overturned due to potholes on the road, which were filled with water after rain.
