Will reach out to backward sections, 5K villages to be poverty-free soon: CM
Jaipur, June 25 -- At least 5,000 villages in Rajasthan will be made poverty-free during the first phase of Pandit Deen Dayal Upaddhyaya Antodyaya Sambal Pakhwada, a campaign that has been launched on Tuesday to reach out to the backward sections of the state and get them included to all the available government schemes and policies, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said.
Launching the event in Jaipur's Vichur village, the CM said, "The first phase of this campaign will be continued till July 9 during which the officials and the ministers will reach out to the areas and people that are still at the most backward stage in the state. We will proceed the long-time pending works of those people and areas, get the people included to all the available government schemes for them during this campaign."
He also said that the officials will conduct a survey across 10,000 villages under the BPL category and figure out the requirements for their development.
"We are committed to the manifesto that we kept before all of you before the election. We have done a pile of works in only two years that the Congress government failed to do in five years. We belive in action, not words," said the CM.
He said, "Upaddhyaya, a key founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, dedicated his life to the deprived section of the society. With his inspiration, this campaign will be a bridge between the government and the people and also a platform to empower the backward class."
The CM added: "Congress never realised the pain of the public. We understand the struggle of our youth, women, farmers, and labourers. While the Congress provided with only Rs.15,000 crore loans from the central cooperative banks in five years, we provided with Rs.35,000 crore loans. We also made 12,000 kilometres roads in the state which was only 5,000 km during the Congress tenure. Wherever we start any work, it exposes Congress's failure only. But, we have been successful to bring the state in the direction of development again."
"We want Rajasthan to become one of the leading state and self-dependent state in India soon," CM asserted.
Meanwhile, CM Sharma also spoke to the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday to initiate a survey for the land allotment process for the long-stalled Yamuna Water Share project between the two states, said officials.
"Sharma and Haryana CM Saini had a detailed discussion over phone regarding the solution to the problem of water drainage in Bhiwadi and the progress of the Yamuna Water Agreement. In view of this, under the ambitious plan of bringing Yamuna water, there is a possibility that Rajasthan and Haryana will jointly start the ground alignment survey work for the pipeline this month," CMO said in a statement. It added: "Work will also be done on rainwater harvesting in dams in Bhiwadi area and using the treated water separately by Bhiwadi integrated development."
CM said, "Due to the geographical location of the Bhiwadi area, the problem of water drainage arises during the rainy season as natural flow is in Haryana's direction. In this regard, a positive consensus has been reached between the two states and concrete progress has been made towards an indisputable solution to the problem."...
