Jaipur, May 11 -- Amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan in the bordering areas of Rajasthan, the Jaipur Police on Friday night banned the use of drones and firecrackers during any function across the city till June 9, officers aware of the matter said.
In an order, issued on Friday, police commissioner Biju George Joseph said, "Considering the current situation of the state, the government has conducted drill and blackout across the country to keep us prepared for any emergency situation. However, there are some reports on using drones and bursting firecrackers at wedding functions, which may pose a significant risk during the emergency blackout situations in future. Therefore, any drone movements and bursting of firecrackers will be strictly banned till June 9 under the Jaipur Police Commissionerate area."
The order further instructed that selling of firecrackers during this period will also be restricted in Jaipur. "The sellers will have to obtain a permission for selling firecrackers if it is required in any special situation," it read.
Jospeh, in the order, also directed the police personnel to take immediate actions against those found guilty of violating the rules.
"The officers should take necessary action to implement this order in an immediate effect across the city. Necessary steps should also be taken to circulate this order among the public. They will also have the power to take action against the ones who doesn't follow this order under section 223 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita," it read.
Earlier, drones and firecrackers were also banned in the bordering districts of Barmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Sri Ganganagar....
