Urban bodies told to finish road revamp works by Dec 30
Jaipur, Nov. 7 -- Acting on the directions of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the urban development department has instructed all municipal bodies to expedite ongoing and new works related to road renovation, maintenance, and traffic safety.
The works are to be completed through a special drive by December 30, reaffirming the government's commitment to making road safety and citizen convenience a top priority, states a release from the CM's office.
The Rajasthan government has launched a comprehensive campaign to prevent road accidents and strengthen road safety infrastructure across all urban areas of the state.
Under the campaign, each urban body will focus on the renovation of roads, repair and maintenance of dividers and footpaths, cleanliness drives, and installation of traffic indicators. The government has emphasized that these measures are essential to ensure smoother vehicular movement and pedestrian safety. All road renewal works in urban areas have been directed to be completed by March 31, 2026.
In accordance with the CM's directives, unauthorized road cuts will be immediately closed, and unnecessary shrubs and bushes around junctions will be removed. It also includes large-scale repair work for damaged ferro covers, manhole covers, dividers, and footpaths....
