Upgraded weighbridge modules to be tested in Jaipur, Udaipur: Govt
Jaipur, Nov. 19 -- The state mines and petroleum department will conduct trial runs of its newly developed computerised weighbridge module at two weighbridges each in Jaipur and Udaipur districts between December 1 and 7, officials said on Tuesday.
Principal secretary (Mines and Petroleum) T. Ravikant said the pilot phase will help assess on-ground challenges before the module is finalised and rolled out in a phased manner by the end of this year.
Ravikant said the first phase of implementation will cover major mining leases such as cement and iron ore operations. He added that the pilot feedback will be incorporated to refine the "WebBridge" module, after which the system will gradually become operational across the state.

Ravikant informed the officials that the weighbridges will be raised above ground level to ensure accurate weighing. The move is expected to make the system more transparent and significantly reduce routine disputes and inconveniences faced by leaseholders.

The Principal secretary added the department was transitioning the entire system to a paperless platform, eliminating the need for leaseholders to make frequent visits to departmental offices. Command centres will be set up in Jaipur and Udaipur for real-time online monitoring of weighbridge operations, he added.
Director (Mines) Mahaveer Prasad Meena said the introduction of the WebBridge module along with a vehicle tracking system will bring greater transparency and benefit mining operators by curbing irregularities....
