two Raj distts record sub-zero temperatures
Jaipur, Jan. 12 -- As the cold wave intensifies in the state, two districts of Rajasthan - Nagaur and Sikar - recorded a temperature below the freezing point on Saturday night in the first of such instances this season.
As per the data shared by the IMD, Sikar's Fatehpur recorded -2degC while Nagaur recorded -1degC temperature. Due to such low temperature, a thin layer of snow on the roof, trees, and cars was also seen in both the districts on Sunday morning.
Temperature was also low in Peelani with 1.2 degrees Celsius, followed by 1.7 degrees Celsius in Sikar, 1.9 degrees Celsius in Jhunjhunu and Lunkaransar, 2 degrees Celsius in Churu, 2.5 degrees Celsius in Mt Abu, and 2.8 degrees Celsius in Bikaner.
Dense fog and severe cold wave alert was also issued on Sunday in Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Kotputli-Behror, Sikar, Udaipur, Bikaner, Churu, Didwana, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Nagaur, Phalodi, and Sriganganagar.
