Bikaner, Oct. 23 -- An under-training judicial officer was allegedly assaulted and robbed near the collector's residence in Bikaner, police said on Wednesday. According to the FIR lodged at Sadar Police Station, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Pooja Janagal, a 2024 batch Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) officer, was headed to her home, when the incident occurred around 6.20 PM near Shanti Villa on Tuesday, close to the district collector's residence. Two unidentified men riding a black motorcycle approached her from behind. One of them struck her on the arm and tried to snatch her handbag. When she resisted, the assailants kicked her scooter, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain injuries. The attackers then snatched the gold chain she was wearing before fleeing the spot, the police complaint reads. The report states that Pooja suffered injuries to her face, mouth, and teeth. Her father Shravan Janagal, an advocate, later reached the police station and filed a complaint. A case has been registered under section 307 and section 115(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigating officer, ASI Tanerao Singh, has taken up the investigation.
