Three people killed in explosion at Jaipur oxygen factory: Cops
Jaipur, Feb. 2 -- At least three people died on Saturday night after an oxygen cylinder exploded inside a factory in Vishwakarma Industrial (VKI) area in Jaipur, police said on Sunday.
Ravindra Singh Narooka, station house officer at VKI police station, said, "The oxygen facility is over 10 years old. The explosion also blew off the tin shed roof of the factory and led to a wall collapse."
The deceased included the manager of the factory. They were identified as the manager Vinod Gupta (45). Shibu Anuva (35) and Munna Rai aka Vikas Rai (30), both from Jharkhand, who succumbed to injuries during treatment on Sunday morning," said Narooka.
One of the oxygen cylinders at the plant exploded while it was being filled, he added.
Police teams, along with fire brigade, and a pollution control board team reached the spot to examine the area after the incident. "Following a primary investigation, we have lodged an FIR against the owners under BNS section 106 for negligence in running the plant," said the SHO....
