three of a family killed as their speeding car rams into truck
Barmer, July 4 -- Three of a family, including a mother and her 12-year-old daughter, were killed when their speeding car rammed into a truck on Thursday early morning, police said.
"The incident took place at around 2.15 am on Bharatmala Expressway 754 near Bhadaruna in the Jhab police station area. The family was returning from a pilgrimage to the Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat," said SHO Arun Kumar from Jhab police station.
He said that the impact of the collision was so intense that the car was completely mangled, making it difficult to even identify the vehicle. "Seven people were inside the car at the time of the crash. Subhashvati (45) and her daughter Pramila (12) died on the spot, while the driver, Guddu Pandey, succumbed to injuries during treatment at Sanchore hospital," he said.
The victims were residents of Jogiwali village in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh. "They were returning from Dwarkadhish Temple when the incident occurred," the officer said.
The SHO said that the woman's husband Mithailal Goswami (51), and their son Ashish (19) were referred to Palanpur in Gujarat due to their critical condition. Two other daughters - Anita (13) and Kavita (5) - are currently being treated at Sanchore hospital, he said. He added that efforts are underway to trace the truck involved in the crash....
