Jaipur, Sept. 22 -- At least three people have been arrested on Sunday by the special operation group (SOG) of Rajasthan for allegedly duping over 250 people of crores of rupees in the name of giving away Scorpio SUVs each at only Rs.5-7 lakh, police said. The inspector general of the SOG, Sharat Kabiraj, said, "The action was taken based on a complaint by an individual. The prime accused, Banshi Lal (24) aka Prince Saini and his two aides Mamata Bhati (24) and Dinesh Bagdi (24), launched a company called HarvestAI Technology and started promoting on social media that they would give away Scorpio at only Rs.5,00,000 to Rs.7,00,000. Falling in their trap, over 250 people deposited money in their company but nobody received a single car." A case has been registered under Sections 318(4) (cheating), 338 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 336(3) (forgery), 340(2) (using forged document as genuine), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS, police said. "All his transactions were on cash. It is yet not clear how much he has received but we assumed it would be more than Rs.200 crore as many people also deposited more than Rs.8 lakh to Rs.10 lakh falling in their trap," said Kabiraj. He said the accused, on his website, claimed having over 200k satisfied customers on his app which was never even launched. Police also said that primary investigation found that Saini had earlier had several such fraud businesses and he kept jumping from one to another. In 2017 he duped 54 people of over Rs.6 lakh as the victims were mostly small farmers or local shopkeepers, they had not lodged any complaint, police said. "Later, he cheated at least 2,200 students in an online coaching fraud. Saini then fled to Jaipur and stayed there for the last three years until he launched his third business of Harvest AI Technology to give cheaper Scorpios," said Kabiraj....
