Udaipur, Jan. 13 -- Amet police have booked two unidentified thieves for robbing Rs.7-8 lakh worth of gold jewellery from a 70-year-old woman, police said on Monday, adding that the accused allegedly touched the victim's feet to seek her blessings before fleeing. According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday at the victim, Sohni Bai's, home on College Road in Rajsamand, where lives alone,. The intruders entered her house between 7 pm and 9 pm, pushed her to the ground, causing a head injury, and then held her hostage. The thieves forced the woman to hand over her jewellery. Fearing for her life, she complied and gave them ornaments worth around 7 to 8 tolas of gold and other valuables, police said. In her complaint, the victim told the police, "When the thieves threatened further harm, I pleaded with them in the name of God, requesting them to take the jewellery without causing further injury. They refrained from harming me further." As they prepared to leave, Sohni Bai told the intruders they were like her grandsons.
