There's stilla wild gender-based pay gap: Emilia
India, Jan. 17 -- Actor Emilia Clarke was catapulted to global fame portraying the Mother of Dragons in Game of Thrones (GoT). Post that, the actor went on to establish herself as a leading lady and is now starring in a new show, Ponies with Haley Lu Richardson.
Despite holding a prominent position of power in the industry, Emilia highlights the gender disparity: "There is still a wild pay gap. The situation is definitely changing and we are very lucky to exist in a culture that allows us to speak our truths, but that isn't the case for everyone."
Her spy thriller series, currently streaming on JioHotstar, highlights her sisterhood with Haley. "It's a big thing. That didn't nullify the challenges, though. "In the last few seasons of the show, I was getting panic attacks. I feel like I am always in a backroom with fame. I just want to have conversations with people and have a nice time, but sometimes fame gets in the way. So I'm constantly trying to keep that down. Fame is a fickle thing. It'll be there one day and then it'll go away. You just have to make sure that that's not the reason why you are waking up in the morning," she ends....
