Jaipur, June 14 -- Rajasthan assembly leader of opposition Tika Ram Jully on Friday raised concerns over the ongoing technical glitch in the financial inclusion gateway (FIG) portal, which was causing distress among the state's farmers. Jully said that cooperative societies were unable to disburse loans due to the malfunctioning portal, putting the sowing of Kharif at risk. Farmer representatives who met Jully explained that many were turning up at the Gram Seva Cooperative Societies early in the morning, only to return home empty-handed due to the glitch. Some farmers may miss out on interest relief under budget announcements if their loans become overdue, said the representatives. He further said he has written to cooperative minister Gautam Kumar Dak, urging him to find a permanent solution to ease the hardships faced by farmers. Farmers were forced to protest at the society level due to the ongoing technical problems, which remained unsolved even after repeated phone conversations with FIG helpdesk officials, added the minister. He stressed the need for immediate action to enable smooth disbursement of loans and provide much-needed relief to farmers during the crucial Kharif sowing season.
