Jaipur, June 10 -- A government school teacher has been detained by police in Banswara for allegedly offering a Rs.5,000 bribe to be a part of RSCERT textbook revision committee, education minister Madan Dilawar said during a press conference in Jaipur. "The incident happened on Monday morning during my daily public hearing event at my residence. The teacher, Chandrakant Vaishnav, arrived there and handed me a box of sweets and an envelope. Initially, I did not care about it. But my staff later said that there is Rs.5,000 inside the envelope. The RSCERT conducts the work of textbook revision and he wanted to be included in the committee," said Dilawar. He added that Vaishnav, a teacher at a government primary school in Banswara, was detained and currently being questioned by the police. "It is the worst incident in 35 years of my political career when someone felt that the education minister may accept a bribe to do something," the minister said....
