Jaipur, July 17 -- Since the launch of the Active Case Finding (ACF) campaign on June 25, 2025, the Rajasthan Health Department has screened over 7.4 million individuals-44% of its target population of 16.7 million-as part of its drive to eliminate tuberculosis under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The state has identified TB-like symptoms in 2,35,054 individuals, who have been referred to health institutions for confirmation, marking a significant push toward early detection and treatment among high-risk groups, states a release from the CMs office. In line with the Prime Minister's vision for a TB-free India, the state is executing a well-structured strategy under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma's directions. The screening drive will continue until July 21, 2025, with the objective of early detection and free treatment of hidden TB cases. Target groups include PLHIVs, diabetic patients, senior citizens, the malnourished, smokers/drinkers, migrant workers, tribal communities, former TB patients, and residents of mines, construction sites, jails, and urban slums. To ensure comprehensive screening, responsibilities have been assigned to officials at the state and district levels. Daily reviews of the campaign's progress are being conducted. This door-to-door campaign marks a crucial step toward the national goal of TB elimination. With strong participation from district teams and the public, early detection of patients is improving, helping break the chain of infection, states the release. Rajasthan ranks third in TB Mukt Gram Panchayat campaign - 3350 gram panchayats in Rajasthan were declared TB-free in 2024, significantly increasing awareness and community involvement. The state ranks third in the country under this campaign. So far, 35,117 Nikshay Mitras have been registered, providing nutritional, psychological, and logistical support to TB patients. The use of technology has greatly improved TB detection and monitoring. Through the Nikshay Portal, real-time tracking of TB patient identification, treatment, and benefit disbursement is being ensured. The TB case-finding campaign is being conducted via the ASHA Digital Health App, with real-time monitoring through a central dashboard. To ensure accuracy and speed in diagnosis, Rajasthan has prioritized NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) for suspected cases. The participation-based model involving NGOs, CSR partners, and private doctors has further strengthened the fight against TB. At the district level, inter-departmental coordination involving police, WCD, education, and labour departments is helping design a unified and inclusive strategy. The campaign is being executed with micro-planning, 100% data entry, and thorough reporting. The state has strengthened infrastructure at the district and block levels. This includes deploying 629 NAAT machines, microscopes, X-ray units, and lab technicians. In 2024, Rajasthan notified 1,71,415 TB cases-101% of the target. By June 2025, 89,132 cases have already been notified, achieving 110% of the target. Notably, NAAT technology enables early and accurate TB detection, ensuring timely treatment and reducing the spread of infection, states the release....
