Jaipur, Sept. 4 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the installation of two lakh LED streetlights across the state's 312 municipal bodies, doubling the earlier proposal to enhance safety, save energy, and improve urban lighting. The CM during a review meeting took the decision to double the number of LED streetlights proposed in the 2025-26 budget from 1 lakh to 2 lakh, keeping in mind night-time safety in urban areas and improved traffic management. "Our resolve is that every road, every neighborhood, and every market of the state should glow with light. This is not just about illumination, but a strong step towards building a safe and modern Rajasthan," he said. The CM directed that the project should begin before Diwali so that the streets of the state appear brighter during the festive season.
