Jaipur, Aug. 5 -- A seven-year-old deaf and mute girl was allegedly abducted and raped in Dausa district of Rajasthan, police said on Monday, adding that efforts are underway to identify the accused.
According to Bandikui circle deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rohitans Devanda, the girl went missing from her home in Baswa area of the district around 2pm on Sunday. "Her family members started searching for her and found her in a distressed condition, sitting at a desolated place near the house at around 7pm," Devanda said.
Police said the girl was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors suspected the girl was raped, following which police were informed.
A case was lodged on the basis of a complaint filed by the girl's father under section 63 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of Protection of children from sexual offences (Pocso) Act.
Devanda said that a medical examination of the girl was conducted to confirm she was raped.
Prima facie, the accused, who was yet to be identified, abducted her from the front of her house while her relatives were inside.
"He raped her and left her alone," the DSP said. "The accused is absconding. We are trying to nab him soon."...
