Six villages reel from continuous flooding amid delayed projects
Bharatpur, Aug. 6 -- At least six villages, around 8 kilometres away from the district headquarter in Bharatpur district are in the grip of flood situation. Water is flowing up to three feet inside and outside the village Barakhur. People are closed in their homes due to water logging.

A resident, Ramesh Singh, said there is several feet of water inside and outside the village. Villagers are not able to come out of their houses, and children are brought to and from the school through tractor trolleys.
Another resident, Veedo Devi, said that waterlogging is spreading diseases and poisonous insects are also emerging. Villagers have to go to the market through water and park their vehicles outside the village.
The health centre and government school are also flooded, they said.
