Shots fired at Disha's Bareilly home; Godara-Brar gang claims responsibility
India, Sept. 14 -- Two suspects on a motorcycle fired two shots at actor Disha Patani's residence in Bareilly's Civil Lines in the early hours of Friday before fleeing, police said. The Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang has claimed responsibility in a Facebook post, citing alleged disrespect towards spiritual figures Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj as the motive.
At the time of the firing, Disha's family - including her sister Khushboo Patani, father Jagdish Singh Patani, and mother Padma Patani - was home. No injuries were reported. Disha was in Mumbai during the incident. Security has been deployed at the property as the investigation continues.
"Eight to 10 shots were fired, and the bullets passed very close to me. My dog started barking very loudly, and I got alerted. The bullet missed me by a very small margin. I just got saved," Jagdish told Times Now.
Bareilly senior superintendent of police Anurag Arya confirmed the firing occurred around 4:30am and that the crime branch has taken over the case now. Police also recovered two empty cartridges outside the residence....
