Jaipur, Nov. 3 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved disciplinary action against 13 government officials in eight different cases involving corruption, negligence, and indiscipline, an official statement said. Under the chief minister's directions, approval has been granted for a detailed investigation into irregularities found in tenders under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The inquiry will be conducted against three engineers under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. In addition, two serving officers have been penalized with the stoppage of their annual grade increments for disciplinary violations. One case, in which charges under Rule 16 of the CCA Rules were proven, has been forwarded to the governor for approval. Similarly, in a case involving a retired officer, the governor has approved the penalty of pension stoppage. Appeals filed in two other cases under Rule 34 of the CCA Rules have been dismissed, upholding the earlier punishments imposed on the concerned officials.
