India, March 6 -- After presenting the Japanese Palme d'Or winning film, Shoplifters, in 2018 and Jia Zhangke's Chinese film Ash Is Purest White (2018), last year to the Indian audiences, Sanjay Suri is all set to present the French Oscar-nominated drama Les Miserables to India. Talking about his passion for bringing world cinema to India, Suri says, "The Indian audience has a great appetite for films that go beyond their culture. Films like Les Miserables or Shoplifters are actually local stories but globally themed. With the OTT platforms, we are exposed to different kind of content but the cinema experience and community viewing in the dark room is always a great experience. Earlier, while travelling abroad, we would get imported chocolates, cheese or perfumes as they were not available here. So, for me, when I watch something nice, I want to share it with the larger audience. Our vision is to bring the culture of watching all kinds of cinema including international cinema to India."...
