Barmer/Jalore, Oct. 11 -- A man allegedly killed his wife with a hammer and then died by suicide by jumping into a water tank near their house in Sanchore district on Thursday evening, police said on Friday. According to police, the incident happened around 7pm. Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies, which were shifted to the Sanchore hospital mortuary. Postmortem was conducted on Friday. Confirming the incident, SHO Devendra Singh Kachhwaha said, "The couple had an argument on Thursday evening that escalated quickly. In a fit of rage, the man attacked his wife with a hammer. She fell unconscious after the first blow, but he continued to hit her, leading to her death. After killing his wife, he jumped into a nearby water tank and died by suicide." When the family members returned home later in the evening, they found the woman lying in a pool of blood. Shortly after, they discovered the man's body floating in the tank. Relatives told police that the husband was mentally unstable and had also attempted suicide earlier by jumping into the same water tank before but was rescued in time....
