Saini community protests plan to bring down phule's statue
Bharatpur, March 24 -- Hundreds of people from the Saini community launched a protest rally on Monday after the district administration planned to demolish the ancient temple and statue of Jyotiba Phule in Bharatpur, amid the project to build bridges in the city.
Ramesh Saini, councillor in Municipal Corporation and president of Saini community said there are ancient temple and Jyotiba Phule statue at Surajpole intersection on circular road but the administration decided to demolish them.
"We are demanding the administration to not touch the temple and statue. The budget and land on nearby place to build temple and statue should first be allotted," the Saini community president said.
He further added that the community will be forced to launch fresh agitation against the district administration if our temple and statue are demolished....
