Jaipur, June 10 -- Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot launched a scathing attack on the BJP government on Sunday over its failure to appoint a new chairperson and fill vacant posts in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), saying the delay led to a slowdown in the recruitment process and rising frustration among unemployed youth. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gehlot wrote, "Here is an example of how the BJP has deceived the youth of Rajasthan. Before the elections, BJP leaders misled the youth and spread misinformation against us by making false accusations. They had promised to bring positive changes in RPSC and speed up the recruitment process." He alleged that even after 10 months in power, the BJP government has not been able to appoint a new RPSC chairperson or fill vacant member posts. "Shockingly, the government has also failed to dismiss a suspended RPSC member who was arrested in connection with a paper leak case," he wrote. "In cases where interviews are being held, the process is dragging on for months, prolonging the wait for unemployed youth," he added. Calling it a clear mismatch between BJP's promises and actions, Gehlot said this gap has led to growing anger among the youth of the state. Commenting on the issue, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said, "You came to power by making false promises of unemployment allowance. For five years, you turned governance into a gamble. The recruitment exams conducted during your tenure brought an indelible blot on Rajasthan's image. Those who crushed the dreams of the youth have no right to make such statements."...
