India, July 5 -- British singer-songwriter and actor Rita Ora called American pop icon Beyonce her "protector" during a difficult period, when she came under fire for being "Becky with the good hair". In her 2016 album Lemonade, Beyonce (43) appeared to allude to an affair between her husband, rapper-businessman Jay Z (55) and another woman, famously referring to her as "Becky with the good hair" in the song Sorry: "He only want me when I'm not on there/ He better call Becky with the good hair." Rita (35), who had appeared on the Begin Again with Davina McCall podcast, said that over the years had been "affected worse" by other things. "Because it wasn't real. I wish I had good hair," she said. At the time, many fans had suggested that Rita was the 'Becky', who was then signed to Jay-Z's label, Roc Nation. "None of that was real. That was the first time I experienced what it means to be in a messy situation, I guess," Rita shared, adding, "That's what's insane because there was nothing but love. And, you know, again, being signed to Jay-Z, her husband, she being my biggest inspiration, she came to my first show in New York at The Box." Rita ultimately dispelled the rumours with a selfie with Beyonce at the Met Gala in 2016: "Then it was gone." "I was actually genuinely upset because that's my big sister protector. She took it upon herself to really look after me. And I still see her to this day and she's always been so, so nice and proud, checking in on my family and friends that I've had since childhood and remembering their names," she said. htc...
