Retd constable held for killing brother: Police
Bharatpur, July 22 -- A 40-year-old man was shot dead by his elder brother, who is a retired police constable, over land dispute in Bharatpur district, police said on Monday, adding that the accused has been arrested.
Ram Sahay, assistant sub inspector of Lakhanpur police station, said the incident took place on Sunday in Peengaura village. He quoted Rajendra Kumar, one of the four brothers, as saying that their father had divided a three hectare ancestral land among them. "On Sunday, Vijendra came to the village and began arguing with Daulat for more property. The argument turned violent and Vijendra shot him."
