Jaipur, Aug. 29 -- The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has tightened scrutiny in the ongoing RAS Recruitment-2023 interviews after detecting suspicious disability certificates among candidates, officials aware of the matter said. For the first time, the Commission has made it mandatory for applicants under the disability quota to undergo medical verification, a step aimed at curbing the misuse of reservations. The decision has triggered panic among several candidates whose certificates are under question. According to officials, many have chosen to skip the medical tests, while some even petitioned the commission to change their category from disability to general or other quotas. RPSC's investigation found that several such candidates are already serving as government employees - including Grade-III teachers and patwaris - after securing appointments through the disability quota. The commission has written to their respective departments, recommending a re-examination of their disability status, states the RPSC release dated Thursday. RPSC chairperson Utkal Ranjan Sahu said, "The move will reinforce the fairness of recruitment and crack down on those who exploited fake certificates to gain undue advantage, even securing government jobs earlier." An RPSC secretary noted that the use of fake certificates deprives genuine disabled candidates of their rights and opportunities. Candidates who fail to appear for medical verification, will face action as per rules. It would not only cancel their candidature for RAS Recruitment-2023 but also bar them from future recruitments....
