Rape victim climbs atop water tank in bharatpur for legal action
Bharatpur, Oct. 14 -- A 27-year-old rape survivor climbed up on an overhead water tank to seek legal action against the accused on Monday in Bharatpur.
The woman lives in a colony under Mathura Gate police station and registered a complaint on October 9 against Ravi Meena, a native of Surajmal Nagar of Bharatpur city for raping her several times.
She mentioned in her complaint that she was raped by him two years ago but people of the community forced her to withdraw the police complaint.
After withdrawing the complaint, he continued to sexually assault her. On August 19, she was going to the bank but he abducted and took her to a hotel where he tried to rape her but she managed to escape.
Despite a complaint, police didn't take legal action against him, she alleged.
After being convinced by the police that action would be taken, she got down from the water tank.
Madan Lal Meena, Mathura Gate police station in-charge said that on being informed, police reached the spot and brought her down from the water tank after assuring her of legal action on her complaint....
